"This 2006 syrah, with its rich garnet color, is a medium-bodied wine with a very clean structure. The wine offers pleasant aromas of cranberry, cherry, and strawberry on the nose. The flavor opens to notes of black cherry cola and chocolate at the front, while the mid-palate is tickled with hints of leather, tobacco, and cinnamon. A straightforward mouthfeel allows this wine to pair well with simple picnic fare, while at the same time being equally well suited for an informal home gathering or backyard family feast due to its modest tannic structure.
