"Our 2006 Grignolino (pronounced green-o-lean-o) is a delight with its luminous crimson hue and vivacious bouquet. Bright berry flavors travel along the palate carrying hints of fresh watermelon and spiced tea. The Grignolino varietal originates in the Piedmont region of northern Italy where it is often referred to as “the little strawberry.” Although rarely grown in this country, it has been a wonderful part of our heritage since we purchased our first vineyard in 1961 and discovered it there.

Grignolino is a remarkably versatile wine. Often served chilled, this refreshing wine is a natural companion to pizza or pasta, and it’s also delicious with fish and light meats." - Winemaker notes
